Approach is made by Marisa Gibaud. It is designed so that your information stays on your iPhone, and the little you choose to share stays between you and the people you connect with.
Calendars. Approach reads the calendars already on your iPhone (iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange and others set up in iOS) and any calendar links you add, to show you when you and your people are free. This happens on your device. Your events are not sent to us or to anyone else.
People you add. Names, photos, phone numbers and email addresses you choose from your Contacts are stored on your device only, so Approach can show them and let you call or message them.
Status sharing (optional). If you turn on Share my status, Approach publishes a small record for the people you connect with: your name, your current status (Available / Please Approach / Do Not Disturb), and — only if you choose — your approachable-hours bands and anonymous busy time blocks. This record never contains event titles, locations, notes or attendees. It is stored through your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, encrypted with a key derived from your private Approach code, so only people you have given your code or invite link can read it. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time, which deletes the record.
Notifications. If you turn on the bell for a person, Approach shows a notification on your phone when they set Please Approach. Notifications are generated on your device.
Approach is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
